Meet your Instructor

Rob Atkinson, Microsoft Certified Trainer

Rob Atkinson has been Teaching Microsoft Official couses for the last 10 years globally, and has been using Microsoft cloud services for around 15 years, giving him a uniquely deep knowlegde of both Microsoft 365 and Azure. He has been in in IT for more than 23 years, working with Microsoft and Linux systems. Installing, configuring and managing everything from desktops, to networks and servers, for small, medium, and large companies. He has a strong background in managing Microsoft Servers such as Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, and SharePoint. Working with private cloud such as Hyper-V, System Centre and other Windows Server components.

As a part of his job, he gives training on products such as Windows Server, Hyper-V, System Center, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Azure to name a few. Before this Rob held the role of Chief Technology Officer for a global investment bank, managing infrastructure teams on Windows Server and Private Cloud, and regarded as a technical specialist and Subject Matter Expert.

Rob gained his experience across 12 years working for the largest TV Production company in the UK, supporting and managing IT for a diverse range of programmes such as BBC Question Time, The Paralympic games 2012, Commonwealth games, Tour de France and more. Rob is a Microsoft Certified Professional having gained Microsoft MCITP, MCSA, MCSE, and MCT qualifications.

Most recently Rob helps organisations understand and implement Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365 services. He enjoys encouraging, guiding and mentoring students to achieve Microsoft certification

Rob is also a Microsoft MCT Community Lead, where he helps encourage, guide, and mentor others to become MCT qualified.
